Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA), will deliver the opening keynote at CES 2025, the world-renowned Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas from January 7 to 10. Huang, known for unveiling groundbreaking advancements, is expected to announce new video game chips and showcase Nvidia’s efforts to expand its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities into broader markets beyond data centres.

With Nvidia’s stock reaching an all-time high of $149.43 and a valuation of $3.66 trillion, the company is the second-most valuable globally, trailing only Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL). This meteoric rise is fueled by Nvidia’s dominance in the data centre space, where its chips power AI projects for firms like OpenAI.

Nvidia’s data centre business is projected to generate $113 billion in sales this fiscal year, more than double the $47.5 billion earned in fiscal 2024. Meanwhile, its consumer gaming segment remains robust, with analysts forecasting $11.77 billion in revenue. Nvidia continues to lead the gaming chip market, competing with Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) and Intel (NASDAQ: INTC).

Blackwell Architecture: The Next Generation of GPUs
Building on the success of its Blackwell AI server architecture, which was unveiled last year, Nvidia is anticipated to introduce new graphics processing units (GPUs) designed to elevate gaming performance and image quality. These innovations are expected to set new benchmarks for gaming hardware while expanding the use of AI in consumer devices.

AI Beyond Data Centers: A Bold Strategy
Huang’s keynote will likely emphasize Nvidia’s strategy to bring AI capabilities to corporate PCs and laptops. By positioning gaming chips as tools for AI-driven business applications like chatbots and intelligent agents, Nvidia aims to redefine the PC market.

This move places Nvidia in direct competition with companies like Intel and Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM), both banking on AI features to drive the next wave of PC upgrades.

Huang is scheduled to take the stage at 9:30 p.m. ET, and industry insiders are eager to see how Nvidia plans to sustain its momentum in gaming while capitalising on its AI leadership. CES 2025 promises to be a pivotal moment for Nvidia, showcasing its dual focus on gaming and AI as it shapes the future of technology.
