In a solemn announcement, Tenable Holdings, Inc., a global leader in cybersecurity, shared the tragic news of the passing of its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Amit Yoran. Amit, a trailblazer in the field of cybersecurity, passed away unexpectedly following a battle with cancer, marking the end of a remarkable career dedicated to making the digital world safer.

A Visionary Leader Who Transformed Cybersecurity

Amit Yoran joined Tenable in 2016, bringing with him a wealth of experience and an innovative spirit that reshaped the company’s direction. Under his leadership, Tenable grew exponentially, achieving a major milestone in 2018 with its successful initial public offering. His forward-thinking vision and emphasis on exposure management allowed Tenable to become an indispensable partner for over 44,000 organizations globally, safeguarding IT infrastructure, cloud environments, and critical systems.

Before joining Tenable, Amit had a storied career in technology leadership. Notably, he served as the founding CEO of NetWitness, a groundbreaking firm in the cybersecurity landscape, and as President of RSA, one of the industry’s most renowned companies. His contributions have left an indelible mark on the cybersecurity community, elevating standards for digital safety and security.

Tenable’s Commitment to Continued Stability

As Amit began his medical leave of absence in December 2024, the Tenable Board swiftly acted to ensure continuity and stability. Steve Vintz, Chief Financial Officer, and Mark Thurmond, Chief Operating Officer, were appointed as Co-CEOs to oversee operations during this transitional period. Art Coviello, the Board’s lead independent director, assumed the role of Chairman.

The company has assured stakeholders of its financial strength, projecting that it will meet or exceed the guidance previously shared in October 2024.
